Travel to Hua Hin

If you travel to Hua Hin in Thailand you can enjoy relaxing on the beach, visit interesting temples or play a few rounds of golf.
The relaxed atmosphere of Hua Hin has made the city a popular destination for local tourists, international travelers and backpackers.

One of Thailand oldest resorts

Hua Hin is one of Thailand's first seaside resorts and goes all the way back to 1911 when the 190 km railway between Bangkok and Hua Hin was completed. Hua Hin became so popular that King Rama 7th built a summer residence in Hua Hin in 1926 - to this day the residence still belongs to the royal Thai family.

In 1922 the city's first golf course was built, and today it is still one of the city's main activities. Pony riding is also a popular activity as well as enjoying life on the beach. South of Hua Hin's main beach you will find the Khao Takiap mountain covered by miniature altars. Also find some time to visit Wat Khao with its 20 meter high Buddha figure.

Getting to Hua Hin from Bangkok is easy. Most travellers take a bus or minivan or negotiate a good deal with a taxi from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Count on 3 hours driving from Bangkok.

Hua Hin beaches

The beaches of Hua Hin are attractive and very accessible. The main beach, The Hua Hin beach is the major beach and the most well known in town. This beach may become a bit crowded during weekends and public holidays, but during the week it's a perfect and family friendly beach. 7 kilometers to the south of Hua Hin you will find the slightly curved Khao Takiab beach which is less crowded than the Hua Hin beach, but it's still a popular place to spend the day during weekends. Other beach options are the tree lined Suan Son Pradiphat beach (9 km's from Hua Hin) which tends to be more remote. Also the Khao Tao beach Sai Noi beaches are worth a visit. Here you will even find a huge Buddha statue on top of a hill.

Food in Hua Hin

There are plenty of restaurants in Hua Hin and most of them are good. Fresh sea food is to be recommended.

Shopping in Hua Hin

There are nice shopping opportunities in Hua Hin. You'll find the usual souvenirs but also clothing stores, leather goods and handicrafts. One of Hua Hin's specialties is polished shells.

Hua Hin climate

The climate in Hua Hin is tropical with an average daytime temperature of 33 degrees. Humidity is high. A visit to Hua Hin is best between December and March, while May to October is the wet season.
