Days 4-5 Denali National Park
Head north and stop at Talkeetna for the chance to try some reindeer sausage, a local delicacy, before arriving at awe-inspiring Denali National Park with its endless views and hiking opportunities. Your included scenic bus pass will help you explore, but the Denali rangers encourage visitors to get off the beaten track, and you'll soon feel like a real explorer as you head out into this vast wilderness. Daylight is well and truly on your side in Alaska as summer puts in so many overtime hours this far north, giving you more time to explore this wild wonderland. Try and spot the Alaskan 'Big Five': caribou, wolves, Dall Sheep, moose and Grizzly Bear, as you hike in the shadows of Mount Denali, which is usually translated as 'The Great One'. It's North America's highest mountain, standing at an incredible 6,190m (20,320 ft)! If budget allows, opt for a once in a lifetime scenic flight over Mount Denali, the views are simply breathtaking.
