Attractions in Lisbon

When in Lisbon, you should definitely not miss out on a visit to the Belém district, filled with sights. Explore the old town Alfama, go on adventures in the narrow alleyways and around the beautiful historic buildings. Stop to enjoy a good cup of coffee and the famous Belém cake before continuing on several historical highlights of this beautiful town.

Another Lisbon must is the famous fado, Portugal's national treasure when songs and music are concerned. These melancholy songs are heard everywhere in Portugal and Lisbon, and are quite unique for the country. Hear them in bars and cafes and street corners.

Shopping in Lisbon

There are lots of cool shopping opportunities in Lisbon, especially when it comes to the variety of shoe stores. One of the most popular shopping streets is Avenida da Liberdade and outside the city center you can find a number of shopping centers, including Amoreiras.

If you prefer more traditional Portuguese shopping, you should visit the Chiado district to the south. There are many local markets throughout Lisbon and the city is full of good places to hunt for everything from food to bags and shoes to antiques and more.

Nightlife in Lisbon

This seductive city is full of atmospheric, vibrant and trendy night clubs and bars. Go for a walk on Avenida 24 de Julio and all the way to the Alcantara bridge, and you will understand what we mean. In Bairro Alto, you'll also find a string of lively bars.

By the waterfront in the Old Port in the old warehouse Dockas and Alcanara area you'll find lots of clubs and restaurants. In general, the nightlife starts late - there is rarely anything going on before midnight. Among the city's best places to be mentioned are The House Club, Buddha Bar, RnB Club Art, Casa do Brasil, California, Capital (3 floors and a lavish rooftop), salsa club Salsa Latina and finally the very trendy Lux.

Relaxing in Lisbon

There are lots of wonderful places where you can relax a little. Go to the area Bauxa Chiado, where you can enjoy a good cup of coffee in Brasileira Café or perhaps enjoy a picnic in Monsanto Park, one of the largest parks and an excellent place to people watch.

Excursions from Lisbon

When in Lisbon, you should include a visit to some of the attractions outside the city. Just a 25-minute journey from the city you get to the charming and elegant port city of Estoril, seaside resorts in Cascais and the more tranquil Tavira. Should you be here in the summer or early fall, do not miss out on a swim in the Atlantic. And why not complete the excursion with a trip to the island Ilha de Tavira or perhaps to Terra Estreita?

We can also recommend the small town of Guincho, a perfect and relatively peaceful place to relax on the beach, looking at or even try windsurfing and enjoy a nice lunch.

Accommodation in Lisbon - hotel or hostel?

For those who want to stay close to where everything happens, a hotel or hostel in Bairro Alto is the right choice when in Lisbon. However, it is also one of the most expensive areas, and you can save a little by staying in another part of the city. We can help you book accommodation!
