When you travel to South America and especially Brazil, you shouldn’t miss a visit to what can sometimes feel like one big greenhouse. Amazonas is the world’s largest rainforest, covering 7 million square kilometers! This impressive natural wonder lies for most parts in Brazil, but also stretches its way into Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, Colombia, Suriname and Guyana.

Heaven and hell in the Amazonas

This jungle hot and humid, so hot in fact that sometimes it might feel as living hell if you stay here for too long – many people leave the place with a sense that this is not a place for human beings! In spite of this Amazonas is a popular destination for many tourist that we recommend warmly. The amazon jungle is just as much a piece of heaven as the opposite, thanks to it’s wonderful sceneries and inspirational incredible atmosphere.

There’s plenty of opportunities to experience the Amazon jungle and it’s impressive Amazon River – which also is the largest of it’s kind in the world. This goes for both Brazil and the many neighboring countries. And you can choose between anything from half day trips to month long expeditions.

Amazing wild life in the Amazon

Most trips in Brazil depart from Manaus which is by far the largest city in Amazonas. 1,6 million inhabitants. From Manaus as well as from other cities like Santarém, Porto Velho and Boa Vista you can get out and experience the life of the jungle and it's rivers. Find trees and plants you never knew existed, howler monkeys, alligators, river dolphins, capybaras, anteaters, tapirs – and who knows, perhaps even a puma or a jaguar! And we must not forget all the different kinds of parrots and all thinkable insects and reptiles, especially cicadas and frogs.

Experience an idyllic paradise in the heart of Brazil

There is something magical about waking up in the jungle an early morning. Imagine the glow from the purple sunrise over the horizon, through the trees shrouded in the mist of the morning. In the distance you hear the exotic sounds of the howler monkeys, reminding you of a resounding thunder. As you slowly ascend from the hammock that functions as your bed here in the rain forest, everything is peaceful and quiet. Your travel mates on the expedition are still asleep and it feels like you have the place all for yourself. Jump in the river to enjoy a fresh morning bath. Here are no piranhas and no alligators - just pure, clean water and some truly heavenly surroundings. This is the best time of the day.

This is truly the adventure of a life time. What are you waiting for?
