1. Cairo, Egypt

Kick off your Africa trip with a visit to Egypt, the land of pharaos, mummies and the Pyramids. However, you can also discover the Egypt that lies off the beaten track by going on a river cruise on the Nile, hopping on a Jeep and head into the sand dunes or discovering the colorful world that lies under the surface by diving into the Red Sea.

2. Nairobi, Kenya

Kenya is a popular backpacking destination in Africa. It's cheap and easy to travel around, the people are friendly and there is a range of exciting activities on offer in Kenya. Whether you prefer hanging out on the beach, dancing with the Masai on the savannah, going on a safari or heading off to a spice plantation.

3. Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Dar Es Salaam is the biggest city in Tanzania and is a perfect starting point for your Tanzania trip, whether you are planning to climb Kilimanjaro, go on a safari in Serengeti or kitesurf on Zanzibar. Tanzania has it all and the friendly people of Tanzania are more than happy to welcome you into their rich culture.

4. Johannesburg, South Africa

Johannesburg is the starting point for most safaris going to Kruger National Park and is also the right place to go if your are looking to volunteer in South Africa, especially if you want to work with large cats. This is also the right place to be if you want to head out into the bush for some real adventure and spend a night under the stars before you head off to Cape Town.

5. Cape Town, South Africa

When in Cape Town a hike up the extraordinary Table Mountain is a must - the view from the top is well worth the effort. If you’re feeling lazy, you can always just take the cableway up. Who needs to know? For more adventures, try kitesurfing, bungee jumping, surfing or shark diving - if you dear.

6. Livingstone, Zambia

Zambia is less effected by Western culture and also much less densely populated than its neighboring countries and are therefore considered to be a more adventurous destination. Perfect for a - by now - experienced Africa traveler. Finish off your amazing Africa adventure with Africa’s crown jewel: the majestic Victoria Falls!
