This trip starts in the plains of India. The road enters the hilly area at Bilaspur and later travels following the Beas River. As it nears Kullu, the valley opens onto a wonderful vista of open fields and apple orchards. Near Manali it gets wilder and rougher, but the real adventure begins as soon as you cross the Rohtang pass. The terrain changes together with the people, cultures and religions.   • Day 1: Delhi - Manali

    (Driving time: 13 - 14 hours approx.) Today you will take the overnight bus to Manali (2,050m) (with A/C). The bus stops along the way for dinner and breakfast. Overnight in Bus.

  • Day 2: Manali

    Arrive in Manali around morning or by the noon. Check in to a pre-booked Hotel. Our representative will meet you at the bus station and escort you to the hotel.

  • Day at leisure.

    You may explore the local bazaar on your own. Over night at hotel.

  • Day 3: Manali

    Today includes a full day city tour including a visit to the Naggar castle, Roerich Art gallery, Hidimba temple and the hot springs at Vashist. The evening hours are free to walk around the Mall Road - the hub of Manali town. Try your hand at bargaining for some new ??antiques' at the Tibetan bazaar!

  • Day 4: Manali - Keylong

    (Driving time: 5 - 6 hours approx.) Today you will start the day by driving past the beautiful green alpine country of the Kullu valley to the top of the 3,980m Rohtang pass. From here you will descend to reach Koksar for a brief tea halt and registration of passports. You will continue to the town of Keylong, headquarters of the district of Lahaul and Spiti. Keylong is a rich town where people earn a living by exporting peas and apricot to the other parts of the country during summers. It is also a very green area. The rest of the evening is free to explore the local market. You can also walk to the Khardong Gompa (3 hours round trip).
